A note on selecting educational technology tools...

There are a few important factors to consider when choosing which tools to integrate with lessons.

1. Ed Law 2D Compliance- in NYS we have laws to protect student data privacy.  All of the tools you will find in our support materials have gone through a certification process that will protect vendors from sharing and selling student data.  We strongly advise you to avoid using tools that utilize more than 2 points of personally identifiable information and are not included in our lists, ebooks, and support pages. 

2. Triple E Framework- as you plan your lesson or unit, consider whether a digital tool may:

Engage-improve student effort and sustained focus on cognitive tasks related to your objective. 

Enhance- increase depth of learning or accessibility of learning for students' individualized needs.

Extend- connect learning to contexts beyond school, such as connecting to authentic problems & careers, or connecting to home-lives & home technology.
