I was born and raised in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. If you look at a map and put your finger in the middle of Pennsylvania, your finger will be on Williamsport. I am excited to begin my first year of teaching with the Bering Strait School District in Stebbins. I graduated from the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania this past May with a degree in Middle Level Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Language Arts.
Before I moved to Alaska, I was an Allstar Cheerleading coach for the Williamsport Twisters. I worked with boys and girls from 4 – 19 years old. I also volunteered at a music venue that provided our city with music from a variety of genres. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking, and crocheting. I am looking forward to beginning my teaching career with all of you and getting to know everyone!
I was born and raised in Stebbins and I’m proud to be from Stebbins, Alaska.
This is going to be my 13th year working for Tuqurngailnguq School.
Before coming to work for BSSD, I was a teacher aide for the B.I.A. School here in Stebbins until BSSD took over in 1980 or ’82. I worked with elementary students.
I like working here because our school is clean, and we have good, caring staff. We have the best students in our school.
In my spare time I read, look at catalogs, do some subsistence activities. I also like being with my grandkids.
This year I’m looking forward to another successful year and to working with a first-time teacher in 5th grade.
