2023 Graduation Ceremony Program.
The class of 2023 seems to have mysteriously gone missing from Gallatin High School (GHS) due to unknown circumstances , starting from the beginning of this semester. Authorities have not yet released any information concerning the whereabouts of last year’s senior class. Ideally authorities will gain a sense of urgency to find GHS students' missing peers.
The students were first noticed to be missing on August 28th when none of the hundreds of kids that make up the class of 2023 showed up to the first day of school, despite their pattern of attending the first day of school for the past 12 years. The status of this tragedy has only grown worse as we enter our third week of this school year, and still none of the lost kids have been spotted on the GHS campus. Normally, by this time, even considering that senioritis may set in early, the class of 2023 had stayed consistent with showing up to school. This behavior is quite unlike them and should be reason enough for concern.
Unfortunately, an official report still has yet to be filed, which is unusual in a case this size. Authorities refuse to look into the mystery. Ms. Elaine Warn, an English teacher at GHS and someone who worked closely with many students of the Class of 2023, even went so far to say that they have “Graduated” and will “not be returning to highschool.” According to her, the missing kids have moved on to other things, like jobs and college. This is unlikely. It is still unclear whether the lack of concern from authorities is just a coverup to hide the truth behind where the missing class has gone. Clearly, as many have surely noticed by now, GHS got new freshmen to replace the Class of 2023. It is advised that GHS students stay cautious towards the freshman, as it is still unclear how involved the Class of 2027 has been in the disappearance of the Class of 2023.
Such a dire situation should be approached with the utmost respect and the most talented detectives on the case. However, this has not at all been Bozeman’s approach. It seems as though the city thinks that the best way to find the missing students is to completely ignore the issue. It is a creative method, and as the hunt goes on, it will be interesting to see how this negligent approach will pan out. Perhaps, strategically, the city feels as though the kids will find their way back on their own. It is possible that reverse psychology is key. Thinking that the kids will realize that the city hasn't been looking and will get tired of the shenanigans and just come back on their own. If this is not a “Run-away” type of situation however, and the Class of 2027 has hidden the missing persons for example, Bozeman’s nonchalant approach may not be as effective.
We can only hope for the best, and the safety of our beloved 2023 seniors. Putting full trust in our community and authorities will surely bring them home to where they truly belong: The hallways of Gallatin High School.
