Liberty Burger: Is it Worth it?
3.6 out of 5.0
By Addie Jones
Liberty Burger is a new and somewhat “healthier” fast food restaurant in the Market off of Huffine in Bozeman. The restaurant itself is owned by the same Blue Collar company that runs all surrounding restaurants, including Tanglewood, Hachi Sushi, and Sidewinders. This new burger joint addition was used as a replacement for the smaller but much healthier restaurant Foxtrot. In my opinion this was a mistake as the food produced by Foxtrot was much better tasting and healthier than that at Liberty Burger.
The food at Liberty Burger, taking into account the price, speed the food is prepared, calorie count, ect. is pretty good. I had their most popular salad for my meal, called the “Crunch Salad”. The dish itself consisted of mixed greens lettuce, almonds, apples, large croutons, craisins, feta cheese, and a creamy garlic ranch dressing. The salad was large and very filling with fresh ingredients and no browning on the lettuce portion. Overall the meal was very filling and satiating if not a little expensive at nearly $15.
While I have done you readers a disservice by reviewing one of the less popular items on the menu of a burger place I decided to redeem myself by also reviewing one of their delicious custard milkshakes. The establishment has several popular flavors including vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, Oreo, Nutella, salted caramel, and Heath Bar. I decided to try the Oreo shake and it was a delectable mix of chocolatey and sweet Oreo with bits of cookie chunks littered in. The shake was so thick that I nearly had to eat it with a spoon. The only downside was that for a 16 oz shake it cost $10, slightly overpriced in my opinion.
Overall the menu has a good selection of dishes with high quality food and in a good location fairly close to Gallatin High School. I would eat there again, that’s for sure.
The Wonderful World of Qdoba!
5.0 out of 5.0
By Bridger C. Warner
As a high calorie burning runner, I try to take in at least 3,000 calories of fibrous protein rich food a day. However, there are very few restaurants that offer food that meets those standards. Among those few are Qdoba.
Qdoba, located on S 29th Avenue in Bozeman, is an absolute wonderland of Mexican “Eats,” as their website explains. Qdoba also caters to people with many food preferences, as they have an extensive menu that can service people of most diets. Qdoba’s menu consists of some filling bowls, quesadillas, and burritos, all with high protein and many dietary options. They have a variety of spices, sauces and Latin ingredients.
Qdoba also competes with many other Mexican style restaurants in the area. As Aaron Chun, a Junior and student-athlete at GHS, explains, “At other Mexican places the ‘bowel side effects’ kick in the next morning. With Qdoba there are no bad effects—plus it tastes better.”
Many other students from GHS enjoy Qdoba.
Will Fennelly, a sophomore and GHS student athlete, explains, “Qdoba’s a great option for me and my friend. There’s a lot of great options, and I can always find something awesome.” Additionally, Isabel Ross, a junior and championship cross country and track runner for GHS, describes it as, “very fresh.”
Jack Weide, a GHS junior and President of HOSA, says, “Qdoba is an all around good restaurant. It’s got super affordable prices, and it’s really centralized in Bozeman. So, it’s not out of the way.” It is also very common to find members of various sports teams there because of their affordable high quality food.
For GHS students Qdoba is a convenient location for any meal of the day. The menu features an incredible selection of high protein meals and caters to many diets. I, as well as all others who need high quality metabolic foods, consider Qdoba restaurant a five stars out of five experience.

Main Street Overeasy: Breakfast made easy
5.0 out of 5.0
By Ellie Iszler
Located on Main street in downtown Bozeman, Main Street Overeasy sits tucked behind a sign that bears the restaurant's characteristic rooster and proclaims that the breakfast place is open seven days a week—serving breakfast and lunch.
Inside, the restaurant teems with a thriving early morning crowd and the clatter of the kitchen. If you were to sit down and inspect the restaurant menu you would find customer favorites like the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, the Grizzly Killer, which the menu proclaims is, “The biggest chicken fried steak you've ever seen! Served with three eggs, sausage gravy, hash browns & toast,” or the Filled French Toast.
In addition to the breakfast plates, Main Street Overeasy provides high quality service that is quick, professional, and friendly, and with that characteristic hometown feel. Main Street Overeasy has been serving an excellent breakfast to Bozemanites since 1998.
Overall, Main Street Overeasy has great food, is a local business, and has amazing service with a down-to-earth and local feel—along with some of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever tasted! So, I recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a small breakfast place, with big town quality.

The Cateye Cafe
5.0 out of 5.0

The Cateye Cafe is by far one of the best breakfast experiences you can get in Bozeman. It’s a lovely restaurant off of Main St. serving classic breakfast items with their own style. When visiting I ordered “The Witch” which was a delightful combination of the traditional breakfast of eggs, potatoes, and bacon. The meal consisted of a large biscuit topped with scrambled eggs, cheese, and of course the classic breakfast item of bacon.
Overall the food was great with a combination of good texture, a great mixture of savory tastes, and amazing flavor. The only thing I could find wrong with the entire place was the portioning was a bit big, but is that really a problem in a world of leftovers? Overall, the restaurant had an amazing ambiance with funny quips all over the place such as fun cat themed signs or a mural telling customers to “Hold yer horses” before entering the restaurant. The Cateye Cafe is incredibly detail-oriented with games at every table, a list of their own rules including but not limited to “Being annoying is prohibited” and to “Expect a smart remark if you ask ‘What’s good’. The Cateye Cafe provides an amazing experience perfect for a first date, family brunch, or solo breakfast run.
Mama Mac’s Bakery and Sandwich Shop
4.8 out of 5.0

Nestled out in Four Corners off of Huffine and Jackrabbit Lane lies Mama Mac’s. The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and the amazing food only add to the Montana charm of this little family-owned restaurant, one cannot miss the chance to stop by and see what there is to offer. Named the “Bakery and Sandwich Shop”, Mama Mac's lives up to the name. With more than a dozen sandwich selections to choose from and a build-your-own menu, the meat comes from the family-run deli.
As for the bakery aspect, Mama Mac's takes the precious time to make their own loaves, muffins, and other delectable bakery treats served fresh daily. As good as their bakery items are, chances are, by the time noon rolls around, Mama Mac's will be sold out of all but a few loaves of bread.
Even better, Mama Mac's is ideally located on the way out of town towards Big Sky for a ski trip and is the perfect place to get order-ahead sandwiches for a day of fishing. Want to experience that special Montana charm like the locals? Mama Mac's Bakery and Sandwich Shop is the way to go.

Texas Roadhouse
5.0 out of 5.0

Texas Roadhouse is a recently opened restaurant here in Bozeman. I made a reservation on a Saturday and was told that the wait time would be 45-50 minutes upon arrival. We were seated exactly 45 minutes after being told our wait time. We sat down at 6:45pm; right around the dinner rush, within a few minutes of sitting down our drinks were ordered and delivered to the table and our food orders were placed not long after.
There was a wide variety of entrees to choose from salads to steak and chicken, to fish and burgers. The food we ordered was delivered quickly and we left an hour and 10 minutes after being seated. For four people eating entrees and drinks our total was relatively inexpensive. I would give it a 5/5, as I personally had no issues with the service, the food, or the wait times. It makes for a very good dinner spot with family or friends.
