Another year is beginning, and as the cycle of months starts over, many set goals, or resolutions, for themselves to meet over the year. For Gallatin High School, these goals vary from person to person. From physical to mental ideals to obtain over the year, here are a few student’s resolutions for the year:
After surveying a group of Gallatin students, it is clear that there is a wide variety of goals for 2024 amongst the student body. Students have set goals for themselves that range from going to the gym more often; to reading more; or to spending less money. The Gallatin High community also have some more metaphysical goals: such as procrastinating less; taking some risks; and focusing more on school and grades. It is clear that the beginning of the year is the perfect time to set goals to improve life in some way, shape, or form.
Whether a goal is something as literal as just making it to graduation, or something more conceptual like wanting to socialize more, there are a few ways to reach those goals. One strong way is to use a planner or an agenda to keep track of check points for achieving a target, such as tracking days a certain task for reaching a goal is done. Another way is to ingrain it into the brain, by repeating a goal over and over.
As 2024 kicks off, it is the perfect time to set some objectives for the year. It allows for one to see how they improve over the course of 12 months, and when the year ends, see improvement. For Gallatin, many of these goals are reachable by just remembering what it is important to do and keeping track of checkpoints along the way. Happy New Year’s, and best of luck to all those who set goals for themselves this year!
