This is a column dedicated to recognizing students who represent the GRIT characteristics our school strives for, and we hope this will inspire others to give back to our school community. For every issue, we will ask two teachers to nominate two students each that they have seen positively affecting their peers and being a good influence in the school.
For this month’s edition, the two teachers chosen to recognize students were Ms. Evenhuis and Mr. Rassi.
Sawyer Nelson - “Sawyer is the definition of inclusive. He is always willing to work with anyone and keeps a positive attitude. He is understanding of others and always asks how people are doing. I strive to be more like Sawyer!”
Madison Coleman - “Maddie is truly one of a kind. She encapsulates all aspects of GRIT, and has a fabulous sense of humor. She wants to be the best she can be, while also having fun. Everyone needs a friend like Maddie.”
Jack Mayr - “Jack is intelligent, hard-working, compassionate, and not afraid to challenge himself. He is extremely kind to both students and teachers and always willing to engage in conversation. He creates a positive environment wherever he is.”
Aerial Fanuzzi - “Aerial is one of the most empathetic students that I have ever met. She cares deeply about her fellow students, friends and strangers alike. She is alway willing to go out of her way to serve others and often stays after class to help clean up after others.
