Meet the Teacher

Mrs. Herdina

Sara Herdina grew up in Belgrade, Montana. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Education, both from Montana State University.

Mrs. Herdina's first teaching job was teaching PreK-12 music in Ryegate, MT. She then taught K-12 music in Harlowton, MT before returning to her hometown. Mrs. Herdina taught K-4 general music in Belgrade for four years. In addition, she conducted the Belgrade High School Flute Choir. The 2018-2019 school year will be her second at Whittier and her twelfth year teaching.

Sara performs frequently as a vocal soloist around the Gallatin Valley. She is a former member of the Bozeman Symphonic Choir, the Bozeman Symhonic Choir Chamber Ensemble, and the Bozeman Municipal Band. She plays the tenor saxophone.

Mrs. Herdina is the President of Flathead Lake Music Camp where she teaches vocal lessons and middle school choir. For more information on Flathead Lake Music Camp, please ask Mrs. Herdina.

Mrs. Herdina lives in Belgrade with her son (Gabriel), and daughter (Rose). She has a HUGE dog named Daizee. In addition to music, Mrs. Herdina loves reading, cooking, skiing, biking, hiking, and all of the rest of the great outdoor activities Montana has to offer!
