Grade 3

We want our young mathematicians to understand that math is exciting and creative. It is not about the memorization of rote algorithms and processes; instead, we want to build math minds that notice patterns and make connections, engage in productive struggle, approach problems in many ways and think critically. With a focus on the 8 Mathematical Practices and through engaging learning experiences, we can develop in our students a deep conceptual understanding of mathematics.

Fact Fluency Development

Building strong number sense is critical for all students. In 3rd grade, expected fluency is:

1. Multiply and divide within 100.
2. By end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
