PROPER MILITARY PROTOCOL

The SASI and ASI will be addressed by cadets in or outside the classroom by their Rank and Last Name unless a less formal greeting has been authorized by the instructor.

While in uniform, cadets will address each other in or out of class based on their rank and the rank of the individual they are addressing or referring to. For example:

• If you are equal to or out rank the individual you are addressing cadet and last name, last name only or first name only is acceptable.
• If the cadet you are addressing out ranks you then cadet and last name, or sir/ma’am is appropriate way to address this individual.

Note: Any cadet seeing a violation of proper protocol between cadets should discreetly point out the violation in a courteous and helpful manner.
