Study Skills Social-emotional Learning
Mr. Starr & Mrs. Smith
Class Overview
Welcome to our Resource Classroom! This class is designed to be a valuable support system for all students at Richmond Hill High School, addressing both academic needs across various disciplines and fostering social-emotional learning (SEL) skills essential for personal and interpersonal growth.
Throughout the semester, our main learning objectives are twofold:
Academic Support: We are committed to helping you excel in your studies across all academic disciplines. Whether you need assistance with mathematics, science, literature, history, or any other subject, our dedicated team of educators and tutors will be available to guide you through challenging concepts, clarify doubts, and provide tailored learning resources to suit your individual needs. Our aim is to equip you with the necessary tools and strategies to become independent learners and succeed academically.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): We understand that academic success is closely intertwined with emotional well-being and interpersonal skills. In this class, we will explore various aspects of social-emotional learning, such as self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, communication, and problem-solving. Through interactive activities, discussions, and workshops, we will create a safe space for self-reflection, personal growth, and the development of meaningful connections with your peers. Our goal is to enhance your overall emotional intelligence, boost self-confidence, and equip you with valuable life skills that extend beyond the classroom.
In this Resource Classroom, every student's unique journey is respected and valued. We encourage open communication, active participation, and a supportive learning community. No matter your background or learning style, we are here to ensure that you receive the guidance and resources needed to thrive during your time at Richmond Hill High School and beyond.
By the end of the semester, you can expect to have gained a deeper understanding of various academic subjects, improved study habits, and honed your social-emotional skills, empowering you to succeed not only academically but also in your personal and future professional endeavors.
We are excited to embark on this learning journey with you and look forward to witnessing your growth and achievements throughout the semester. Let's make this a fulfilling and transformative experience together!
