'25-'26 Soccer Interest Form

Tryouts will be held from January 20th 2026- January 28th 2026

Time: Tryouts will be held after school until 5:00.
- Tryout Schedule:
  - - - 1/20: 8th grade
      - 1/21 7th grade
      - 1/22: 6th grade
        1st Cut
      - 1/23: Players invited back from 1st cuts (ALL Grades)
        2nd cut January 23rd
        Final cut will be completed by January 28th
- Cuts will be posted on the website below and in the tryout Google Classroom.
  - - - Check for names invited after each round of cuts.
Pickup: Pickup athletes at the bus ramp @ 5:00

Tryout Expectations:

RHMS boys soccer is a highly competitive team that will have cuts. On average, the roster is made up of 20-25 athletes ranging from 6th to 8th grade. All grades play on the same team and compete against players ranging from 11 years old to 14 years old. Soccer club affiliation does not affect the final roster at RHMS, however, most players attending tryouts play at high levels at a variety of local clubs, academies etc. On average we have 100+ RHMS athletes across the three grades trying out for 20+ positions. It is not required, but players who make the team are typically skilled and dedicated soccer players who compete at the high levels at the club, academy, select etc. level. We encourage all players to join a local club or team and attempt other sports at RHMS during the other seasons to help increase their strength, speed, and soccer skills.

Requirements:

Players are required to have cleats and shin guards to try out.
Good academic standing (not eligible to participate if failing two or more classes)
Minimal classroom behavior concerns
7:30 min. mile pace or better
Advanced understanding of soccer tactics and positions
Advanced soccer skills, speed, strength, and endurance
