Physics and Biology

Mr. Carl Pitts

Class Overview

Physics: An algebra-based course in motion, mechanics, forces, electricity, matter, waves, optics, and modern physics.  These principles are extensive in scope and cover a broad range of concepts, thus preparing a student for success in college science subjects.

This class aims to build a conceptual framework through active investigations while developing the analytical  and computational skills necessary to apply concepts scientifically. Students must be involved, both in class and outside of class, to complete this course successfully.

Biology: Students will leave this class with a comprehensive understanding of basic scientific concepts and science content. They will be able to apply their knowledge and skills learned from the characteristics of science to analyze and evaluate components of the biological world and implement advanced procedures to safely investigate these components.

Examples of these include the chemical, microscopic, and macroscopic components of life, and analysis and categorization of biological processes and life forms that the students may encounter on an almost daily basis or in a scientific work setting.

About Me

My name is Carl Pitts and this is my 8th year teaching. I have a love of physics, a degree in biology and can't wait to share that with you all. Also really enjoy working with my hand building anything. I also really enjoy 3-D printing. I am excited to get to know all of you this semester.
