Spanish I & II

Señora Clemencia Niles

Class Overview

Spanish I is an engaging introductory course that immerses students in the rich language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world. The primary objective of this course is to foster the development of essential language skills, including listening, speaking, writing, and reading, all in the context of Spanish. In addition, the course aims to enhance cultural understanding and competency in the diverse Hispanic community.

Throughout this program, students will be exposed to comprehensive input, ensuring a well-rounded language learning experience. We use the curriculum SOMOS, which has been carefully designed to facilitate students' progress in mastering the Spanish language.

Spanish II language course focuses on the continued development of communication (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) in the target language and understanding of the culture(s) of the people who speak the language. It assumes that the students have successfully completed a Level I course or are at a Novice-Mid level of proficiency. It is a more advanced vocabulary and grammar class than Spanish I.

Why I love to be an Educator

The classroom environment is where I feel most alive, relishing the opportunity to engage with students, build connections, and witness their success as they master new skills and knowledge.
