9th English Literature and Composition (Lit/Comp)
This is a year-long class where you follow an A-B schedule. This means you will come every other day unless your schedule dictates you come every day. This course focuses on a study of literary genres; the student develops an understanding that theme is what relates literature to life and that themes are recurring in the literary world. The students explore the effect of themes in regard to interpretation. While the focus is argumentative writing in ninth-grade literature, the student will also demonstrate competency in a variety of writing genres: narrative, expository, and technical. The student will engage in research, timed writings, and the writing process. Instruction in language conventions will occur within the context of reading, writing, and speaking, rather than in isolation. The students demonstrate an understanding of listening, speaking, and viewing skills for various purposes.

Get To Know Your Teacher
You will have the amazing opportunity to have two certified teachers in your classes this year. You get two for the price of one!
My name is Danielle Ennis. I am so excited about another amazing year of adventures. I can't wait to watch my students grow over the next four years. I have been teaching for 26 years. I grew up in Richmond Hill, so I strongly love this community. I love Alabama football and reading. Nothing is better than immersing myself in a fictional world that takes you on an amazing adventure to an alternate reality.
I am so excited to enter my 24th year of teaching and my 4th year here at RHHS. I keep teaching because of those moments when students make gains, no matter the size and type! I grew up in Savannah and have lived in several Florida cities, Richmond, Virginia, and Thomasville, GA. We returned to the area in November 2020. I enjoy reading, needlepointing, cooking, traveling, and being crafty. One thing that might surprise you is I have been skydiving!
Please join both classroom and remind by Sunday evening. Thank you!
