Throughout the semester, we will explore various topics related to physical, mental, and emotional well-being, with an emphasis on making informed decisions that positively impact your overall health. Our curriculum will cover nutrition and fitness, substance abuse prevention, mental health awareness, stress management, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Engaging discussions, interactive activities and real-life scenarios will be used to enhance your understanding and encourage critical thinking. By the end of this course, you will have the tools and confidence to make responsible choices that promote lifelong wellness and success.

Weight Lifting Overview

Welcome to Weight Lifting! Get ready to step into a world of strength, conditioning, and self-improvement. In this course, you will have the opportunity to develop physical fitness through resistance training and weight lifting exercises. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting your fitness journey, our experienced coaches will guide you in proper weightlifting techniques, injury prevention, and personalized workout routines tailored to your fitness level and sport. We will cover various lifts, such as squats, deadlifts, bench press, and more, ensuring you gain a solid foundation in strength training. Safety, discipline, and teamwork will be emphasized throughout the class, and you'll have the chance to track your progress and witness your own growth. By the end of the semester, you'll not only feel stronger but also carry with you valuable skills and knowledge to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle beyond high school.


 

 

About Me

I am Rusty Watters, a passionate teacher and coach. This year, I'm starting my first year at Richmond Hill, bringing over a decade of coaching experience from previous stints at Ware County, Lee County, Dublin High School, and the University of West Georgia. I've been part of successful teams, including the '18 State Championship team at Lee County and the '20 AAAAAA State Runner-Up team at Trojans. Additionally, I played a key role in leading Ware County to their first-ever football state championship in the '22 season. My academic achievements include a bachelor's degree from the University of West Georgia, a masters from the University of West Alabama, and a specialist degree from Valdosta State University. I am eager to make a positive impact on the students and athletes at Richmond Hill, inspiring them to excel both academically and athletically.
