End of Year School Picnic: The last day of school for all students will be Friday, June 14th. We would like to invite all families to join us for a picnic that day. We will begin serving with the Kindergarten at 11 am. We will call down grade levels as each class gets through the line. I would estimate that each grade will take about 5 minutes, so Grade 7 will be called down around 11:30 am. Dismissal will be at 12:30 for all students on June 14th. (P.S. ...please keep in mind the last day BBQ is the standard meal price of $3.25 per student.)

Dorset Theater Production: On June 7th the middle school students at the Dorset School will be presenting a theater production of "The Girl Who Was Asked to Turn Blue". The presentation will be at the Arkell performance space at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, VT at 5:30 pm. This is a witty and thought-provoking story of a young girl who is challenged to keep her individuality or conform to fit in a new community. The show is for theater-goers of all ages and tickets can be purchased online for $3.00 or at the door for $5.00. The website for the production is https://www.onthestage.com/show/bennington-rutland-supervisory-union/the-girl-who-asked-to-turn-blue-3549/. SEE BELOW.

A message from our library: All library books are due by Monday, June 10th. Beginning June 5th, middle school students will assist in the process of cleaning their school issued chromebooks with the teachers and library staff. Middle school students should plan to have their chromebook, charger and bag with them at school on June 5th. Chromebooks will not travel home with students the last week of the school year. Students in 8th grade will turn in their chromebooks on Tuesday, June 11th and 6th and 7th grade will turn in their chromebooks on Wednesday, June 12th.

Dorset Energy Committee: Members of Dorset's Energy Committee along with the Town Selectboard have invited the Vermont Council on Rural Development to convene some community conversations this summer and fall focused on Dorset's economy, affordability, and preparation for climate change. They are hosting a small planning meeting on next Thursday, June 6th in the evening and are looking for one or more Dorset families to participate. This is a one-time meeting, not an ongoing commitment. If you have any interest, please contact Jon Copans at (802) 225-6393 or jon@vtrural.org.
