I called Maine my home for 29 years. I was born and raised in the beautiful town of Camden, where the mountains meet the sea. I spent my winters skiing at the Camden Snow Bowl and summers at our camp on Lake Megunticook. After graduating from UMaine Farmington, I taught first grade at the Warren Primary School. In 1986 I married Douglas behind the Camden Public Library overlooking the harbor. In 1988, Doug accepted the head pastry position at the Equinox Hotel. I found a kindergarten position at the Currier Memorial School. A year later, I accepted a first grade position at The Dorset School and have happily remained there ever since. We have two children, Abby and Ethan. Abby is a graphic designer for Casella. Ethan is a mechanical engineer at Mack Molding. Doug is now working at Rising Sun Maintenance. We reside in Manchester with our two cats, Bella and Edwin. We love visiting family in Maine and New York, maintaining our gardens, and hanging with our children. One word sums up my life: grateful!
I am a native Vermonter, as were my parents, grandparents and great grandparents, so I certainly feel connected to this beautiful state. I currently teach and live in Dorset with my husband, Jim, but have lived in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Scotland. I have taught pre-K, grades 1, 3, 4, 5, and a combination second and third grades. My husband and I have three grown sons: Our oldest son, Alex, is a lawyer, and lives in Winooski. Middle son, Kyle, lives in Boston and is an analyst at Fidelity, and youngest son, Erik, is getting a masters degree in family therapy and counseling at the University of New Hampshire. We enjoy getting together as a family to hike, canoe, bike, ski or just relax with a good meal and conversation.
