BRSU in the News

It’s been a wonderful summer, but we’re excited by the opening of the new school year - the first official academic season for the newly merged Taconic and Green and Mettawee School Districts of the Bennington-Rutland School Union (BRSU).

At his time, we wanted to send you some local news stories that have recently been published online in the Manchester Journal and GNAT-TV. In addition, we are passing along a link to BRSU Superintendent Jackie Wilson’s blog, “Views from Taconic and Green.” (Just double click on all links below to open.)

Views from Taconic and Green: Jackie’s blog is published 2-3 times each month and covers a wide range of topics. The most recent edition features her remarks to all the BRSU teachers at the kick-off In-Service Day Meeting held earlier this week at MEMS: What Matters in Education. When you go to this page, note a menu bar at the top that allows you to view previous blog posts. Earlier this August, for example, we had stories on an inspiring summer camp for BRSU students and an update on work done in June, July and August to by our new Food Services and Operations Departments.

Manchester Journal: The recent work of our Food Service and Operations Departments was also covered in two articles of the Manchester Journal. In addition, the August 31st edition of the paper features an editorial commenting on the BRSU’s approach to education.
