Welcome to Sandpiper School PTA where your family matters to us!
PTA means something different to us all. At Sandpiper community matters - and our PTA is a community builder. We run events, programs and enrichment throughout the year to enhance the experience that our children receive at Sandpiper. We pay for field trips, music lessons, science classes and deliver all art lessons. We fund school assemblies, classroom periodicals, laptops, disaster preparedness and project based learning. We organize school socials, environmental learning, a garden club, multicultural day, science fair, discovery day, talent show, holiday celebrations, a book fair and Enrichment Programs that last school year included mandarin, yoga, math, theater, mindfulness, computer club, robotics, chess club, mock trial and a dance club.
These events are all run by volunteers who give their time, voices and love to our community. They are funded by the generous donations you make at the start of the school year. It’s no wonder that this year we’ve been recognized as a distinguished school by the California Department of Education!

PTA EVENT CALENDAR HERE
PTA General Association Meetings are organized monthly to transact PTA business and keep our community informed. You do not need to be a member to attend meetings, but you do need to be a member to raise issues, take part in debate and vote on decisions. Notices will be sent out in advance to all those signed up to receive our eNews and minutes will be available afterwards to all members.
The PTA membership has the authority to adopt the budget, elect officers, approve/ratify expenditures and approve contracts.
The Executive Board transacts business between meetings, creates committees to carry out PTA work and meets monthly to set the agenda for the General Association Meetings, the dates for which are:

HOW TO DONATE
Significant state cuts to education mean that we need to fundraise to supplement basic funding needs. In order to provide the best quality of education we all need to be in it together. None of us want the volunteers who deliver our PTA events, programs and enrichment to have to fund the costs themselves!
Sandpiper PTA generates its income from family donations at the start of term to improve budget efficiency and doesn’t organize other fundraising events throughout the year so you know what you are donating upfront. We ask for a donation per student. Your contribution is completely voluntary - the PTA exists to support every child at our school.
During the registration process families will be invited to donate online. You can also donate here. Our fundraising period ends on October 31st when SchoolForce will start their active fundraising program. HOW TO VOLUNTEER
Volunteers contribute to our academic programs, our classrooms, and student enrichment. It's a way to build community and teach our children how to make a difference to others. It's a great way to give back, meet new people, and for parents to see their children in action at school. You can get involved by giving as little as an hour a month! Click here to find out more
It's not always easy starting at a new school. Our hope is that you are made to feel welcome and valued. We want to hear from you.
