Senior Portrait & Baby Photo Requirements for the Yearbook
DEADLINE: Friday, September 29th, 2023
It is important that you make plans for your portrait as soon as possible, since many schools have
similar deadlines and photographers’ schedules fill up quickly. I would strongly suggest arranging to have your portraits taken over the summer. Please bring this letter along with you when you have your photos taken. It is fine to have family or friends shoot your photos as long as they still meet the requirements.
The yearbook staff adheres to the journalistic principle that the primary purpose of the portrait is identification. It is not a “personality” photo. The following guidelines provide uniformity in the senior section, which would be more pleasing than a mélange of poses and compositions.
SENIOR PHOTO POSE
• Head and shoulders only. No close-up head shots or full body shots. Both eyes must be visible.
• All photos must have a vertical/portrait orientation due to the design of our book.
• Full Color only; no sepia or black and white.
• Content: Only the graduating senior may be in the photo. We will not accept pictures that include pets, family
members, or props (footballs, instruments, class numbers, etc.). No photo studio imprints please.
• Dress: Clothing should be appropriate for a senior portrait; it need not be formal, but should not violate standards of good taste. No shirtless, strapless, or revealing tops. No hats, bandanas, do rags, sunglasses or any other headgear. Graduation caps are acceptable.
• Background: Traditional backgrounds, colors, and seasons preferred.
• Photos that do not meet the criteria may not be placed in the yearbook.
SENIOR PHOTO FORMAT
• Size: Standard wallet (2.5”x3.5”)
• Digital images only please (no prints). Digital images should be JPEG or TIFF file type and have a resolution of
300-600 dpi.
• Photos must be submitted using the Google Form linked to this email
SENIOR BABY PHOTOS
• Digital Images only (if photo is not available digitally, student may make arrangements with me to scan their photo)
• Age 4 or younger
• Photos that are in poor condition will not be able to be placed in the yearbook.
If an acceptable photograph is not submitted on time, either the student’s ID photo will be used, or the student will be listed as “not pictured” if there is no ID photograph available.
Thank you in advance for minding both the deadline and requirements. Please contact me at (414)371-7029 or at
mpinney@browndeerschools.com with any questions.
Respectfully,
Mr. Pinney

Scholarship Opportunities
Seniors can search for scholarships offered by community members, local colleges, universities, clubs and organizations.
College Admission Application Fee Waiver
Students, please remember that if you qualify for free or reduced lunch, you can apply for the "Request for Waiver" or "Deferral of College Admission Application Fee." If you are receiving free or reduced lunch you may not have to pay the college application fee or may be eligible for a reduced admissions fee. If you think you qualify, please visit the main office to complete the fee waiver form before you apply to universities or colleges. If you have any questions, you should speak with a counselor.

This Senior Exit Survey is due, no later than, Friday, March 29, 2024. You will NOT receive graduation ceremony tickets for your family without first completing this survey.
