“Yi Peng Lantern Festival, Thailand”

In the Yi Peng Festival, the people of Thailand light lanterns, locally known as Khom Fai or Khom Loi, and release them into the sky to symbolize letting go of all that has been weighing them down spiritually. The festival is celebrated on the full moon that falls within the 12th month of the Thai calendar and usually lasts 2-3 days.
