The Booboisie (boo-bwah-zee) is the first year of a transformative two-year certificate course designed for dedicated students seeking to deepen their understanding of physical theater and expand their creative horizons.
This course marks the beginning of a journey into the world of physical (creative) theater. As the first year of our innovative two-year certificate program for community-based practitioners, it lays the foundation for a transformative experience that will challenge, inspire, and empower actors as performers and creators.
We will be posting updates, games, moments, and lessons learned to this site to document our groups' progress and provide insights for educators and artists interested in community-based theater artmaking, teaching, and learning.
We envision cultivating a new generation of physical theater artists who are technically proficient, creatively daring, and deeply connected to their communities. Through intensive training in red nose clown technique and ensemble devising, students will discover new dimensions of their artistic voice and develop the skills to create powerful, engaging performances.
