As the habitat of Asian elephants shrinks, tensions caused by human-elephant conflict increase. Understanding the impact of conflict on communities and ideating ways in which coexistence can be promoted is crucial. Exploring the material use of ‘damaged’ banana crops, the human-elephant coexistence project aims to shift interactions from conflict to coexistence and ensure our harmonious living with the gentle giants.

This project was developed with collaborator and Creature Conserve mentor Jeanne Dodds, exploring the challenge of shifting human and wildlife interactions from conflict to coexistence.
