Taste Happiness developed in response to Bohie’s awareness of the prevalence of rubbish in her life and landscape. The painting features discarded Coca-Cola cans found on Bohie’s local walks within her home of Braidwood New South Wales scattered among native Rosella’s seen in her front yard. The work encourages us to take notice of rubbish, pick it up as if it were an injured animal, and care for it by placing it in the recycling bin—where it belongs.
