Commencement Weekend

On a visit to Providence for commencement weekend, Brown alum Anthony Stott ('15) played the piano installation for the first time. He was particularly surprised by the changed weight of the keys, and the unusual timbres of some of the notes. Many of the hammers in the upper register have lost their felt, and the exposed metal hammer against the steel string creates an unexpected sound. "The percussive sounds in this register are fun," he commented as he tapped a high note. "That's not a sound I've heard from a piano before."
