Important EMS terminology includes:
Midline
R/L sides
Anterior

Midaxillary
Medial
Lateral
Superior
Inferior
Proximal
Distal
Cephalic
Caudal
EMTs should know how to navigate body areas in relation to anatomical position and to accurately identify patterns of injury and specific concerns. This requires knowledge of anatomy and correct terminology for communicating along the care continuum. This terminology will be covered as we move through not just A and P, but the more specific content areas covering body systems and illness/injury.
