This is an example of a bad cut.

• This most likely occurred because the signer didn't take any pauses in between phrases, which makes editing very hard.
• In this case a cross dissolve was used, but because there is no pause it can be hard to see the sign before and after the cut

When signing for video:

• remember to pause in between phrases
  • this will allow for easier editing later
• keep your hands in frame during the pause and transition from one phrase to the next slowly.
• Try to stand in the same position after each take. Marking the floor with a piece of tape can help.

This is an example of a good cut

• Here you can clearly see the signs before and after the cut
• The pause made it easer to accomplish
• There is no cross dissolve use, this is called a jump cut
• The second clip is zoomed in to make the transition more intentional
