The logo features three arches representing the original three clubs (Brae Burn, Wellesley, and Weston) coming together under one roof to form a single curling club (Broomstones) represented by the single stone under the arches.
The geometry of the logo is based on a curling house:
The base of the arches is aligned to the 8-foot and 12-foot circles, as are the peaks of the arches
The base of the arches is aligned to the T-line
The stone is aligned to the 4-foot circle and centered on the button
The “BROOMSTONES” wordmark is located below the arch logo, with its base aligned to the 4-foot and its width extended to the 12-foot.
“CURLING CLUB” aligns with the inside of the second arch
The typeface is Adobe Tiller:
The “BROOMSTONES” wordmark is Tiller Bold
Secondary lines are in Tiller Medium
Case setting:
The “BROOMSTONES” workmark is exclusively in All Caps.
Secondary lines should be set in All Caps or Title
Case in order to maximize legibility. Letter and word spacing should not exceed the width of the BROOMSTONES wordmark.
The logo should have room to breathe. The minimum spacing around the logo is 1/6 the width of the logo on all sides. This is equal to the width from the outside of the outermost arch to the inside of the innermost arch.
An alternate horizontal version of the logo that can be used in situations calling for a more horizontal layout such as a website banner, letterhead, etc.
The layout is achieved by left-aligning the text from the primary logo, aligning the base of the second line to the base and to the right of the logo, and enlarging the text until it is the same height as the right vertical edge of the logo.
The arch at the top represents Broomstones and is based on the geometry of the outermost arch of the primary logo. The three clubs that came together under one roof to form Broomstones are represented by the traditional logos for the three clubs: A tree (Weston), a clover leaf (Brae Burn), and a horse and carriage (Wellesley). A curling stone is also included to unambiguously represent that Broomstones is a curling club.
