Health Services
I work with students and families to create an enviroment to keep kids healthy so they can learn effectively.
Health Screening- Grades K, 1, & 3 will have their hearing and vision screened. Also, any student that is having difficulties in these areas may also be screened. If an area of concern is identified a referral letter will be sent to the parent/guardian with a recommendation to follow up with a physician.
Maintaining student health records- Immunizations records along with screening information for each student is kept up to date. KG students should provide and up-to-date record on admission.
Managing chronic conditions- Conditions such as asthma, seizures, diabetes, severe allergies, etc. are managed in collaboration with the student's physician, parent/guardian, and the student themselves.
Acute illnesses/injury- If students should fall ill or injure themselves while at school an assessment will take place followed by interventions and if deemed necessary the parent/guardian will be notified.
