Brooks County Board of Education
The Board is the official governing body of the Brooks County School System. The Brooks County Board of Education is elected by citizens and is responsible for governing the school system through the development of local policies. The Georgia State Board of Education policies, legislation and court rulings also affect the educational policies in the Brooks County School System.
BOARD MEETING DATE/TIME/LOCATION
The Brooks County Board of Education has established the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. for its regular meetings. The meetings will be held at the J.H. Wells Education Center at 1081 Barwick Road in Quitman, Georgia (formally old Brooks County High School building). The public is always welcome. Minutes and agendas for all board meetings are open to public inspection.
The meetings will be held on the following dates:
Called Board Meeting on Monday, August 14th at 6:00 PM for Personnel and School Goals.
Called Board Meeting on Wednesday, August 23rd to set Millage Rate.
The regular monthly meeting of the Brooks County Board of Education scheduled for 9/12/2017 was postponed due to Hurricane Irma. This meeting will be held on Thursday, September 21st at 6:00 p.m.
