Pre-Algebra: Students began learning about Scientific Notation (8.1 Lesson 9). Students completed two worksheets on Scientific Notation to practice.

Language Arts: Complete yesterday's activity on exploding the moment. Identify an important event in your story and apply the techniques to explode the moment. Highlight this scene. Stories are due next Tuesday.

Reading: We will read chapter 2 of Prairie Lotus and students will write a main idea statement. They will also read their independent book and respond in their log.

Science: Newton's Laws DE chapter: Explore Pages 1-2. Students read, highlighted and answered questions.

Language Arts: Watch today's lesson on using consistent verb tenses in narrative writing, and complete a practice activity. Revise stories for consistent use of verb tenses. Stories are due next Tuesday, 10/13.

Reading: We will read chapter 3 of Prairie Lotus and students will write a main idea statement. They will also read their independent book and respond in their log.

Pre-Algebra: Students completed Quiz on Simplifying Exponential Expressions and finished up any missing math assignments from the week.

Language Arts: Students review using consistent verb tenses in narrative writing and learn how to format their stories for font, line spacing, and paragraphs. Continue working on stories (due next Tuesday), comparing them to the rubric (in Narrative Writing folder under Resources in Google classroom).

Reading: We will read chapter 4 of Prairie Lotus and students will write a main idea statement. Work on theme was also started and students will read, annotate and write themes for two fables.

Science: Students completed Energy + Pendulum Quiz and looked for any missing science assignments.
