Professor of Higher Education
I am a
Professor of Higher Education at Oxford Brookes University, where I
teach geography in the School of Social Sciences and carry
out research into higher education pedagogy. I
have
written and presented widely on students as researchers, research-based learning strategies and mentoring excellence, particularly at undergraduate level. Additionally, I have
initiated and managed a university-wide student experience project called Get Published! In 2018 I
received the Taylor and Francis Award from the RGS-IBG for sustained contributions to teaching and learning in Higher Education. I also
co-chair the Academic Practice network of the Society for Research in Higher Education and work on the editorial boards of the Journal of Geography in Higher Education, Scholarship and Practice of Undergraduate Research, and is editor in chief for GEOverse.
