Are you moving into private rented accommodation next year?
It’s exciting to share a house with friends and we know you will be looking forward to moving in together in September!
Living in a residential community is very different to living in hall accommodation and it comes with additional responsibilities.
We want you to know that there is support available at the University for all students living in private rented accommodation.
The Community Engagement team is here to help you settle into your new home and the area you live in by providing advice and guidance on how to be a good neighbour and have a positive impact on your community. Their work includes:
Colloaberation with local agencies and groups, such as the council and police teams to run campaigns, events and activities throughout the year. These help keep students informed of best practices for living in the neighbourhood as well as provide opportunities to engage with the local community and help foster positive relationships between students and permanent local residents.
Visiting students in the East Oxford area in September to welcome them to the area and share top tips on being a good neighbour, including keeping noise levels reasonable and managing waste and recycling effectively.
