Meet the Teachers

Sarah Bullard is entering her 14th year at Bridges Preparatory School, where she has spent her entire teaching career. She graduated from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina, with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.

Mrs. Bullard was born and raised in Beaufort, South Carolina. She is married to her husband, Rett, and together they have two beautiful daughters, Blair and Scarlett. She is especially excited that Blair will be starting kindergarten this year and joining her class, making this school year even more special for their family. In her free time, Mrs. Bullard enjoys spending time with her family on the boat, relaxing at the beach, and walking local trails.

Dawn Culbertson is entering her 27th year of teaching. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) from Illinois State University and later earned an Early Childhood Education certification through the University of South Carolina Beaufort.

Originally from Glenview, Illinois, Mrs. Culbertson is married to her husband, Alan. Together they have two sons. Their oldest serves in the Coast Guard, and their youngest attends the University of South Carolina Beaufort.

In her free time, Mrs. Culbertson enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on the Savannah Ghost Pirates, traveling, and reading.

Kim Pennington is excited to start her 14th year teaching! She’s loved the last two years at Bridges Preparatory and is excited to be in Kindergarten this year!

Ms Pennington has one daughter, in 10th grade at Bridges Preparatory! When Ms Pennington is not at school she’s usually out shopping, at the beach or pool or watching the Florida Gators!

Ava Serino is excited to be joining the kindergarten team at Bridges! She is relocating from Pennsylvania to begin this new chapter in her career. Ava is looking forward to this opportunity to grow professionally, connect with the Bridges community, and make a positive impact on her students.
