Mrs. Evertz Kindergarten

2022-2023 School Year

Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Lyndsey Evertz. (Please call me “Mrs. Evertz”-in the classroom) I am so excited I get to be your teacher this year! I look forward to getting to know you and your family! We will have fun, work hard, and learn so much! We will also focus on being kind to everyone this year! (Being kind is the most important skill you can have!) What are you excited to learn about in kindergarten this year?

Here is a little about me. I am married, my husband and I have 4 kids (2 adult kids, 2 school age children, 1 dog, and 2 cats. We stay really busy with our family and all the extra curricular activities our kids do. We like hiking, walking along the coastline in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and exploring new places if we have free time. We really like to do just about anything outside.

I have worked in the field of education for 22 years across several different grade levels but mostly in early childhood. (Preschool-1 grade). My favorite grade level is Kindergarten because children learn so many important skills that will help make them/you successful throughout their lives and education in this one school year alone! Signing was my first language and we will learn a few signs in kindergarten to help our day go smoothly.

I grew up in mostly Washington and Montana. I went to a tribal college for my undergraduate degrees- Salish Kootenai College for my A.A in Early Childhood Education and B.S in Elementary Education. I received my M.Ed from the University of Montana in Curriculum and Instruction and an Endorsement in Special Education. I love learning new things and I hope you will also love school and learning new things too. I can't wait to see what I decide to learn about next!

The transition from home/preschool to kindergarten school is one of the most important transitions your child will make. It is a great opportunity to learn how to learn, to enjoy learning, and that learning is so important! I am excited this year to use our new outdoor classroom from time too time as well. Its great to know learning doesn't just happen in a classroom. Learning is magical and it can happen anywhere! That is part of what makes learning so fun!

I encourage parent involvement and any questions you may have. Please call or email using the information above and I will respond to you as soon as I can.
