Julia Rosenbaum is a High School English Language Arts Resident in BTR Cohort 17. She grew up in New York City, spending many afternoons tutoring kids at her local public school on the Upper West Side in literacy and math. She attended Hamilton College in upstate New York, where she tutored her peers' essays, labs, and job applications at the Writing Center and fostered creative expression in her leadership of the school's literary magazine. Over the summers, she interned at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts High School to help young artists develop their writing and formulate their college essays, and she interned with Sanctuary for Families at their shelter for domestically abused families to help run their summer day camp. She just graduated this Spring from college and moved to Boston for BTR, knowing that this would be the best city and opportunity for her to be an educator. Julia is thrilled to engage with students intellectually, creatively, and personally. She looks forward to collective excavations of texts, analyses of narratives, and the formulation of written compositions.
