Jovanna Robinson-Hidas is a Middle School Science Resident in BTR Cohort 17. She grew up in Western MA getting lost in the forest, doing science experiments in the backyard, and picking strawberries on a farm. Jovanna attended Mount Holyoke College where she received a BA Environmental Studies with a minor in Sociology and Developmental Studies. While there, she developed the Restoration Summer Scholars Program to promote environmental science education for high school girls. Jovanna moved to Boston three years ago to accept a two year position with Citizen Schools, where she developed a passion for working with middle schoolers in Boston Public Schools. She has also taught as an environmental educator at a local non-profit, and served in the Dudley Promise Corps at the Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School for part of a school year. Jovanna is excited for this coming year to pass on her love of science in everyday life to middle schoolers at the Dearborn STEM Academy.
