Aysia Rodriguez is an Elementary Resident in BTR Cohort 17. She grew up in San Diego, CA and moved to Boston in 2012 to pursue a degree in Electric Bass and Music Business at Berklee College of Music. While finishing her degree, she coordinated the Boston Cares Youth & Family Volunteer program as an AmeriCorps VISTA and served as a City Year Boston corps member. Following her AmeriCorps service, she joined Boston Partners in Education as a Partnerships Manager. There, she advocated for inclusive practices across the organization, which culminated in a Common Language guide that aimed to give staff, mentors, and board members a shared understanding of the students and communities served by BPS. She is excited to return to the classroom, bringing with her an impassioned belief in our students’ ability to thrive when supported by their community.
