AP World History: Modern is an introductory college-level modern world history course. Students cultivate their understanding of world history from c. 1200 CE to the present through analyzing historical sources and learning to make connections and craft historical arguments as they explore concepts like humans and the environment, cultural developments and interactions, governance, economic systems, social interactions and organization, and technology and innovation. It is the expectation of the district that all students enrolled in an AP course will take the AP Exam at the end of the course.  A grade of a 3, 4, or 5 on the exam will enable the student to qualify to request college credit from their school of choice.  Due to the increased rigor of this course, students should expect to have homework every night.  This course offers 10% additional weight in the gpa calculation.
