OnRamps Physics is a set of college dual credit Physics courses offered through the University of Texas at Austin for high school students.  If students complete the entire year of OnRamps Physics, they can earn up to 4 college credit hours for transfer as PHYS 1301 and PHYS1112 LAB.  Mechanics, Heat, and Sound introduces big ideas in physics, such as Newtonian mechanics (including motion, force, energy, and rotation), as well as solid and fluid mechanics, oscillations, waves, sound, and heat. Students must earn a 70 or better in each semester to earn high school credit, but may be eligible for college credit with a 60 or better.  It is possible for students to have different grades in the college and high school portions of the class. This high school course is also offered with a 10% additional weight in the gpa calculation.
