In Honors Chemistry, students will take a deeper look and a faster pace at conducting laboratory and field investigations, using scientific practices during investigations, and making informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem-solving. Students study various topics, including characteristics of matter, the use of the Periodic Table, the development of atomic theory and chemical bonding, chemical stoichiometry, gas laws, solution chemistry, thermochemistry, and nuclear chemistry. Students will investigate how chemistry is an integral part of our daily lives. This class offers a 5% additional weight in the GPA calculation.
