AP Biology is an introductory college-level biology course. Students cultivate their understanding of biology through inquiry-based investigations as they explore topics like evolution, energetics, information storage and transfer, and system interactions. The district expectation is that all students taking an AP course will also take the AP Exam at the end of the course. A score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP Exam can be submitted for credit at the college or university of choice for the student. Due to the rigorous nature of the course, students should expect to have nightly homework. This courses also offers a 10% additional weight in the GPA calculation.
