Advanced Placement English III is an in-depth study of works from American literature and selections from 17th and 18th century nonfiction.  Students may be expected to read extensively outside of class. The district expectation is that the student will take the appropriate AP Exam at the end of the course.  A score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP Exam can be submitted for credit at the college or university of choice for the student.  This courses also offers a 10% additional weight in the gpa calculation.  Due to the rigorous nature of the course, students should expect to have nightly homework.
