Cosmetology
The Weatherford College Cosmetology Program provides one of the most comprehensive
preparation programs for the aspiring Cosmetologist and follows the updated Texas Department
of License Rules and Regulations. Enrollment for High School begins every Fall and Spring
Semesters. All semesters must be completed. This Program requires 1008 clock hours of
classroom lecture and lab. Successful completion of this program yields 42 college semester
credit hours and makes the student eligible to take the Texas Department of License written and
practical examination.

The cosmetology program is delivered exclusively through Weatherford College. Students will participate in the program for 2 years and will receive high school credit as well as college credit.
PROGRAM ADMISSION
The Cosmetology Program is open to any person who meets the following qualifications:
Provide a copy of your high school transcript, GED certificate or College transcript
Able to pass the reading portion of the Accuplacer test or other TSI scores.
Provide proof of meningitis vaccination if you are under the age of 22 ten days prior to
registration.
Provide a copy of their birth certificate.
Complete a criminal background check with the Weatherford College Cosmetology
Department. This must be complete before registration.
Able to speak, read and write English. See English proficiency policy

Location: Only Weatherford College Wise County for High School
EACH STUDENT WILL NEED TO COMPLETE AN ONLINE APPLICATION TO WEATHERFORD COLLEGE, BE AWARE THAT IT TAKES UP TO FIVE DAYS TO BE PUT INTO THE SYSTEM AFTER FILLING OUT THE APPLICATION AND COMPLETE A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK. IF THIS IS NOT DONE, IT WILL DELAY YOU BEING ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM.
