Registration Guide

STEP 1: ATTEND STUDENT/PARENT ORIENTATION SESSION

  • If you were unable to attend the in-person session, please review the presentation. (Will be provided after Jan 23rd)

STEP 2: COMPLETE NCTC APPLICATION - APPLYTEXAS.ORG

  • Students create Apply Texas account and submit application to become a North Central Texas College student. Application will be completed prior to student taking TSIA assessment.

  • Within 2 weeks, students will receive an e-mail with instructions to set up their MyNCTC account. This platform will connect students to their NCTC e-mail, NCTC bookstore, CANVAS learning system, Scholarship application, and payment information.

STEP 3: PASS APPROPRIATE SECTIONS OF THE TEXAS SUCCESS INITIATIVE ASSESSMENT

  • First time dual credit students will need to pass the English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) portion of the TSIA. Cost of the test is $8. Click here for TSI Assessment registration information.

  • Student may be exempt based on their English II or Algebra I STAAR or their PSAT/NMSQT scores.

STEP 4: MENINGITIS SHOT

  • Students meningitis immunization must be up to date within 5 years. If school records are not updated, student must provide proof of immunization to office prior to registration.

STEP 5: REGISTRATION FORM

  • Student and parent must read terms on registration form, sign and return to Mrs. Page by March 9th.

STEP 6: PAYMENT & SCHOLARSHIP

  • Students that qualify for Free & Reduced lunch receive a tuition waiver good for 6 hours each semester.

  • Payment plan must be set up via student's MyNCTC account once registration is complete. Students may be dropped from the course if payment is not made by deadline.

  • Scholarship applications for Fall 2023 must be submitted on-line by April 15, 2022. Student receiving scholarship will receive the amount equal to a 3 hour course.


Overview of Programs

BHS offers many dual credit options including Technical Programs (Automotive, Welding, Nurse Aide), Academic Courses, and the Collegiate Academy for those students looking to gain even more college hours prior to graduation.
