Career Readiness
Postsecondary Readiness (College and/or Career) is measured by ONE of the following indicators to signal a student is ready for the next step in their postsecondary plans.
Industry Certification
Valid industry certifications, licensures and credentials are earned by students based on high-demand skills in their chosen career pathway. An industry certification is valid beyond high school graduation as students pursue the career pathway of their choice.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) End of Program Assessments
End of Program Assessments are aligned with CTE career pathways to measure foundational academic, technical and employability skills and students are deemed eligible to take an End of Program test based upon the number of credits earned in a given career pathway.
KDE Approved Dual Credit
Student must complete one (1) of the approved dual credit courses aligned to CTE career pathways with a letter grade of "C" or higher
Apprenticeship**
Student receives credit toward apprenticeship for on-the-job learning hours obtained through cooperative education placement
Work-Based Learning
Student successfully completes a KBE-approved cooperative (co-op) or internship aligned with a credential or associate degree and provides a minimum of 300 hours of on-the-job work experience
