Parent Support Groups

Sometimes talking to other parents about what is going on can make all the difference. We find support in those who have walked a mile in our shoes. Contact me if you are interested in connecting with other parents raising neurodivergent kids.

How is consultation different from therapy/counseling?

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist,  I am qualified to provide both therapy and consultation services. With both services, I bring my expertise in mental health, child development, and nuerodiversity to provide support with different goals and objectives in each.  Often times when parents engage in their own support like therapy or consultation, the outcomes can help the entire family unit more beneficially than just the child doing therapy alone.  As a parent, both are extremely beneficial and you can select a service that meets your current need.

Therapy is aimed at treating diagnosable mental illness using therapeutic interventions and tends to be a longer term service. In therapy, we team together to come up with a treatment plan and goals based on what you want out of therapy. I provide therapy to teens age 13 to 18 and adults via a secure telehealth platform.

Consultation aims at providing psychoeducation and expertise to support parents in their parenting of their nuerodivergent child and tends to be a short term service. Consultations are for parents/caregivers only and are conducted over telehealth. I will not be a direct provider to your child. If, at any point during our consultation relationship, if I believe your child would benefit from their own support services, I can help guide you to therapeutic support.
