Below are some databases that we recommend as a first place to look. These databases should enable you to find literary criticism to support your paper. You will find databases with resources to support other projects here.

Make this database your first stop for finding literary criticism.
Search tips:
Select the "Literature Criticism" box under "by content type".
Pay keen attention to the field you are searching. (For example, you would *not* want to search for the term "misogny" in the field "Name of Work".
To narrow results (get a smaller number of articles) include two search terms: "Othello" and "Misogny"
To broaden results (get a larger number of articles) take away a search term.

The resources in this section are available via the Boston Public Library. Anyone with a library card can access these resources, but must have an account in good working order.
This resource is available through the Boston Public Library. To access this resource, you'll be prompted to enter your BPL card number and password.
Search tips:
Note that this database groups articles from Literature Resource Center with articles from other databases. To read more about this, click on the "What's Inside" icon at the top of the database page.
Select the "Literature Criticism" box under "by content type".

Search tips:
Keep in mind that this database covers topics outside of literature.
Use the Journal Filter! For the purposes of this paper, you will want to select "Language and Literature" under "Journal Filter>Return results for:"
Limit your results to articles by selecting "Articles" under "Narrow by>Item type".
Use field searching. A good sample field search to try is "Othello" and "handkerchiefs".
