Welcome, AP Seminar students!
You have access to EBSCO through your AP class, but you also have access to many more databases through your libraries!
Many of these sources are through the school library. To access those, look for a "sign in with Google" option and log in with your school email and password.
Some of these sources are through the Boston Public Library. If you do not know your library card number, you can ask Ms. Pendleton for it or to give you a new library card. Your library card password/PIN is the year you were born (ex: 2010, NOT your full birthday). If you have issues with your PIN, Ms. Pendleton can reset it for you.
Remember that the library is always here to help you with any of your research needs! You can ask your teacher for a pass or stop by during lunch.
When researching, it can be helpful to read encyclopedia entries or general reference articles about your source to understand the basics and get an idea of what you might want to look for more information about.
Gale in Context: High School has overview articles alongside journal articles, magazine articles, and more.
You can filter by content type (see image below). When you're just starting out, try looking at Reference articles. After you have a bit more knowledge of your topic, you can explore other types of sources.
Use your judgment about whether your topic fits one of these databases.
If you are interested in seeing how the news talked about a particular event back when it happened, you can look for newspaper coverage in the sources below.
