Mrs. Carlyn Amire
Welcome Panthers! My name is Carlyn Amire. I am very excited to start my second year at Parkway! I recently married my husband, Daniel, in March 2018. We relocated to Bossier City last year, but I am originally from Mandeville, LA. I moved to Lafayette to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. (Geaux Cajuns!) After obtaining my Bachelor's in Music Education, I took additional English and Library Science courses to earn my English certification.
My husband Daniel and I are both avid cyclists and ride with different bicycle clubs in Shreveport/BC. I have also fallen in love with yoga and inferno pilates over this summer! while trying to stay active! We love traveling and dream of living in California one day. We have a chocolate lab named Gordon and three cats, Moo, Penny, and Rizzo. I am an avid Harry Potter fan and I continuously re-read and watch all the movies all the time! We recently went to San Diego/Los Angeles and I finally got to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Over summer break, we went to London on our honeymoon! It was a trip of a lifetime and we are ready to go back!
How to get on Mrs. Amire's good side? Either talk to her about her cats, Harry Potter, coffee, reading or traveling. I am always looking for good suggestions for new books to read and am trying to read at least one book a month! You can catch me on the weekends at Aspire Yoga or at Starbucks drinking coffee and reading.
For the 2018-2019 school year I will be teaching English I. I love a great literary discussion and hard workers in class! We will be covering numerous literary classics throughout the semester including The Odyssey and Romeo and Juliet.
If you have any questions please contact me! Please either e-mail me or call during my planning period which starts at 10:50 AM. I am looking forward to an amazing 2018-2019 school year! Go Panthers!

This is my first year to teach at Parkway High School. For the past four (4) years I have taught ELA at a middle school in Vermilion Parish. I was born in Bossier City while my father was stationed at Barksdale AFB. We travelled abroad for several years with the Air Force. My mother and I returned to Bossier and made it our home.
I attended Northeast Louisiana University, now known as ULM. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a minor in English. Teaching is not my first career. After working as a non-profit executive for nearly two decades, I decided to follow my dream to be a teacher. I went back to school to get my Teaching Certificate and I haven’t looked back.
Without children of my own, I tend to fawn over my Godchildren, Megan and Sean, much to their dismay. I have a hedgehog named Primrose who I absolutely adore.
I love English and Grammar and Literature! My goal, as a teacher, is to ignite my student’s passion for reading and writing.
Parents, we are in this together. Should you need to reach out to me, my phone number and email are both listed here.
Happy to be a Panther!

Mrs. Sarah Chaudoir
My name is Sarah Chaudoir, and the 2018-2019 school year will be my seventh year of teaching. I am a “military brat” and a product of Bossier Parish Schools. I graduated from Airline High School in 2007. I attended ULM and earned a degree in Biology and English Education. When I returned to Bossier Parish, the opportunity to teach middle school science presented itself. I have a love for science, but an even greater appreciation for Literature. I am thrilled for the opportunity to teach English at Parkway!
Welcoming my daughter Charlotte is the most exciting thing to happen recently. She turned one in June, and this year has been a whirlwind of new experiences. She is the sweetest little girl, with an infectious personality. I am also the proud wife of Marc Chaudoir. We spend most of our free time as a family visiting the aquarium, zoo, pool, and golf course. My dad, Colonel Johnson, works at Parkway as a JROTC instructor. I am so excited to spend time with him every day and benefit from his technology expertise.

Ms. Farryn Cooper
My name is Farryn Cooper, and this will be my first year teaching at Parkway High School. I could not be more excited to be here! I grew up in Ruston, Louisiana, graduated from Ruston High School, then made the long journey moving to college at Louisiana Tech University (across the street). After earning my bachelor’s degree, I moved to Shreveport to begin teaching at Southwood High School. In one short year there, I taught English I, II, and IV. I made the move across the bridge to Bossier earlier this summer. This year at Parkway, I will be teaching English II.
I am a HUGE Louisiana Tech fan, being a third generation graduate, and I do NOT miss home LA Tech football games. Football season is my favorite time of the year. There are few things that I love more than walking outside mid-September and smelling Fall and football in the air. My second favorite college team besides LA Tech is Auburn, and my favorite NFL team is the Patriots. Tom Brady is the man. I am also a Game of Thrones fanatic. When I am not watching football or Game of Thrones in my free time, you can probably find me between two trees in my hammock reading a good book.
My family lives in Ruston, but we are all very close. My mom and dad are both Shreveport natives, dad graduated from Captain Shreve, mom from St. Vincent. I have two younger sisters, Caroline and Harley. They both are both homeschooled and race dirt bikes. They are much cooler than me.
I grew up playing softball, but made the switch to soccer in 8th grade. I played Varsity soccer for four years at Ruston High School. I have recently been given the honor of being the girls soccer head coach at Parkway. I am so unbelievably grateful for this opportunity. I have already been amazed at the work ethic of the girls this summer during training. I am looking forward to a winning season.
My love for teaching English grows every day. My hope for this school year is that your children will find refuge in my classroom, a place where they can express their opinions and thoughts openly without fear of being rejected. It is my personal goal that your child leaves my class every single day feeling a little more full, their minds a little wider than when they entered. Giving students the appropriate resources and tools they need to enter the real world is the reason I teach. It is truly my passion.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Students may contact me via email or Google Classroom. My planning period is 3rd block. I am looking forward to an amazing year.

Ms. Courtney Friedley
My name is Courtney Friedley, and I began my teaching career at Parkway High School in January of 2011. I have taught the following courses: English I, English I Honors, English II, English, III, Creative Writing, and Film as Literature. The courses I currently teach are English IV/Senior Project, Speech I, and Speech II. I am a firm believer in the value of Senior Project. Senior Project prepares students for the assignments, skills, and real world interaction that will be expected of them in college and in the work force. Students are forced to step out of their comfort zones, communicate on a professional level with adults, and meet deadlines with their tasks and assignments.
I am a Parkway High School graduate, and a true lover of SOBO! After high school, I attended Louisiana Tech University where I received my BA in Pre-Professional Speech-Language Pathology. Two years later, I graduated with my Masters in Secondary English. My dad, uncle, aunt, sisters, and cousins are also graduates of PHS! I have two older sisters, Casey and Katie. Casey is married to Jason, and they have one precious daughter, Chloe Jane. My sister, Katie, is married to Justin. Together they have Eason and "the twins", Max and Presley. I enjoy working out and spending time with my family and friends. I have a Yorkshire Terrier named Totti Dior! She was born December 3, 2006. She is my obsession!
I am also the Student Council Co-Sponsor with Stormy Feibel, as well as a member of our PHS Hospitality Committee. Student Council is an organization conducted by students and supervised by adults. The purpose of the Student Council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests, and concerns with the school wide community.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me! Students may contact me via email or Google Classroom. My planning period is 4th block, which is from 12:45-2:20. I look forward to working with your child! Have a blessed day!

Mrs. Amy Hoechten
Mrs. Amy Hoechten
Senior Project Coordinator, English IV, and Technical English
Hello! My name is Mrs. Hoechten. I have been a teacher here at Parkway since 2010. I have taught English I, English I Honors, English I Pre-AP, Film as Literature, English III, Technical English, AP English Literature, English IV, and Senior Project! I look forward to getting to know you better, but here is a little bit about me:
This year I am teaching seniors again! I love teaching seniors because the literature studied in English IV is British literature, and- while some may say it sounds boring- it happens to be my favorite! I like to brag that I can make ANY and EVERY student enjoy Shakespeare. It's my superpower! We do lots of fun activities in my class to make the literature come to life. ... that is why I love this job.
I like to keep the lines of communication open with my students. Students may reach me via e-mail or Google Classroom. I respond as quickly as I can. Parents are welcome to contact me if necessary via e-mail or on my school telephone during my department hour which starts at 9:15. All of my contact information is on my syllabus.
It's going to be a great school year! GO PANTHERS!

Hi! My name is Catherine Shaw and I am thrilled to begin my first year PHS!
A little about me:
I am from Haughton, LA, and had the privilege of attending Bossier Parish Schools myself. I graduated from Haughton High School in 2014 then began Louisiana Tech that fall. This May I graduated from Louisiana Tech with a B.A. in Secondary English Education. I loved my time at Louisiana Tech and will forever say “Go Dawgs!”
In my spare time I enjoy reading, exercising, being involved at my church, SHOPPING, and being surrounded by my friends and family!
This semester I will be teaching English I. I am so excited to be able to share my passion for the English language and literature with PHS freshmen.
Again, I am so excited for this year and to be a Parkway Panther!

Ms. Vanessa Stott
The most important thing you can know about me is that I love to teach -- it is one of my passions. It is my goal to make the time that students are in my class profitable and a great experience. I graduated from Parkway High School and later received my B.A. degree in Secondary Education/ English from LSU Shreveport. I moved overseas and taught at a Department of Defense school in the Azores, Portugal for three years, then moved to California, where I taught 9th Grade English and Middle School ESL. I am overjoyed to be back home at Parkway where I have been teaching Honors and General English II for four years. Additionally, I serve as the Freshman Class Sponsor and a Destination Imagination Team Manager for the Fine Arts Theater team. I enjoy serving my community and investing in the lives of these students who have made an impact on my life as well, and in turn, I ask that parents play an active role in the support of your students' education.
I believe communication and involvement are key to a successful year, so please contact me anytime you have questions or concerns. I look forward to a creative and engaging year!

Mrs. Jennie Wright
I am extremely excited to begin my third year at Parkway High School. I taught 8th grade ELA at Elm Grove Middle School for 15 years. and moved up to high school for the 2016-2017 school year. This year I am excited to be teaching English IV and AP. British literature has always been my favorite, and I am excited to be teaching the literature I love the most. Since I am an avid reader, I enjoy encouraging my students to read for pleasure. Reading builds vocabulary, expands our knowledge base, and takes us on adventures to awesome places.
This summer I was awarded a scholarship to study Jane Austen as well as the romantic poets at Exeter College of Oxford University. In addition to the two courses I chose to study, I was also privileged to be able to hear lectures from experts on the Anglo-Saxons through contemporary fiction. In addition, I was able to visit Shakespeare's birthplace, view Romeo and Juliet at the Royal Shakespeare Theater, and take small trips to other places of interest. I spent the month of July studying and learning, and I am so excited about the experiences I will be able to share with my students this year.
I started college at LSUS later in life when I had only one child left at home. I actually had the honor of graduating from college with Melissa, my oldest daughter. In fact, she is the one who encouraged me to pursue my teaching degree in English education for which I will be forever grateful. I have never regretted that decision! I am now working on completing my master's degree at LSUS.
I am a widow and the mother of four wonderful children. My oldest son Danny lives in Montgomery, Alabama with this wife Angie. My daughter Melissa Gay lives here in SOBO with her husband Revis and four of my totally awesome grandsons. Nathan graduated from PHS and is currently attending Centenary College. He is married to Brittany Sutton who is also a PHS graduate. Garrison is a junior at PHS this year. Sutton is in the 5th grade, and Evan is in 2nd grade. I think Melissa and Revis definitely have their hands full with all of those boys! My son Wesley recently moved back to Bossier City with his wife Allison who is now teaching at Shreve Island Elementary School in Shreveport. Finally, my youngest daughter Jennifer Gholson lives in Austin, Texas with her husband Seth and their two boys. Brody is going to be in the 6th grade, and Hatcher is starting 2nd grade this year.
I attend South Bossier Baptist Church and work with the preschool kids along with my daughter Melissa. In my spare time I love to read or hang out with my grandsons. Of all the things I have done in my life, being a grandmother to these six awesome boys (and now one girl!) is definitely ranked at the top. I am truly blessed!
